In 1967 while living in Santa Barbara, California, Edzo bought his first guitar which he still owns today.

In 1968 he was offered a position with a construction company in the Diablo Valley in Northern California, and he moved from Southern California to that "rural" community in Northern California.

In 1972 Edzo joined the Fire Service in Contra Costa County and served for 23 years in Orinda and San Pablo. After retirement, Edzo turned to volunteer work assisting Loaves and Fishes, collecting and distributing food to the three soup kitchens in east Contra Costa County. Edzo claims to still feel the need for interaction with people.

"My son took me to a guitar swap meet in San Rafael and it seems I found my niche with playing my guitar again at age 59" says Edzo. He also is currently a volunteer for Community Concerts dot Com, Silver Wings, and LITA (Love Is The Answer) all of who supply live entertainment to retirement communities, rehabilitation care centers, elder care locations and convalescent hospitals. Edzo says "My playing is a mellow down home soft country rock folk & blues."

At 6'1" tall and about 300 lbs, dressed in blue jean coveralls and a hat to shade the sun, Ed looks like he just came in from his chores on the farm. Edzo's cheerful smile and ready sense of humor will usually put smiles on the faces of his audience.
